Type Locality and Naming

The type section is lies 380 km northeastern of Rutog County, and ~20 km south of Shuangxiandaban, Duoma District, Tibet. It was named by the Regional Geological Survey Party of Tibetan Bureau of Geology in 1987.


Lithology and Thickness

Limestone. Gray and dark-gray thin- to thick-bedded bioclastic limestone, crystalline limestone, compact limestone and clayey limestone interbedded with micritic limestone, locally intercalated with shale. 127.21−1150 m thick


Lithology Pattern:

Lower contact

Conformable contact with the underlying Upper Devonian Lazhulong Fm

Upper contact

Conformable contact with the overlying Shuangxiandaban Fm

Regional extent

Distributed around Shuangxiandaban and Yueyahu of Duoma District, Rutog County.

Fossils

Yields abundant Brachiopods Tenticospirifer sp., Composita cf. ovata, C. cf. globosa, Schizophoria cf. resupinata, Yanguania sp., Syringothyris altaica, S. cf. texta and Unispirifer sp.; Corals Zaphrentites sp., Zaphrentoides sp. and Caninia sp.,
